Facebook Content Policy
Have you read over Facebook’s Content Policy and their justifications for cherry picking who to censor and how to allow to speak? Here are some snip-its that show how vague and broad these policies are, purposefully and only 8 seconds to prove how facebook is bias
- “Safety: People need to feel safe in order to build community. We are committed to removing content that encourages real-world harm, including (but not limited to) physical, financial, and emotional injury.“
“emotional injury” lol well, so, hurt feelings are a justification…
- “Voice: Our mission is all about embracing diverse views. We err on the side of allowing content, even when some find it objectionable, unless removing that content can prevent a specific harm. Moreover, at times we will allow content that might otherwise violate our standards if we feel that it is newsworthy, significant, or important to the public interest”
So they pick and choose, despite their own standards lol. Having a double standard is okay. As long as it is what ever they agree with or “we feel” is “important”.
- “we make a decision based on the spirit, rather than the letter, of the policy. “
Whatever they “feel” the “spirit” maybe, and who receives an “emotional injury” Can’t get any more snowflake than that.
And just to show how sissified and showflakeish facebook is, a protected form of speech under the 1st Amendment is censored. Whatever facebook feels is “hate speech” is banned.
Oh the irony with some of their policies “We do allow criticism of immigration policies and arguments for restricting those policies.” YA RIGHT! LOL
Now here is a fun game. Lets go through the policy, then do facebook searches for violators, report them, and see if facebook does anything about it.
Did a “Hate Trump” search and wham, found pages that explicitly violated their policies.
Policy, Tier 2; “Expressions of contempt or their visual equivalent, including (but not limited to)…”I hate”
Did a “White People” search and wham, found pages that explicitly violate facebook policies.
12. Hate Speech. “…We do not allow hate speech on Facebook because it creates an environment of intimidation and exclusion. We define hate speech as a direct attack on people based on what we call protected characteristics — race, ethnicity… We define attack as violent or dehumanizing speech, statements of inferiority, or calls for exclusion or segregation. Tier 1 attacks, which target a person or group of people who share one of the above-listed characteristics. Any violent speech or support in written or visual form”
It took all of about 8 seconds to find pages about Trump and White People that violate their policy standards… yet… are left up and not blocked.
Therefore, it is clear that facebook feels that Hate Speech toward Trump is acceptable and exclusion, statements of inferiority, and any violent speech about White People is also acceptable too.
Take Action. Even though facebook may not do anything about it, still, for you, do something. If there would be ever a discrimination suit, all this data about all these reported policy violations and no action taken for certain groups would only prove their own bias and discrimination.
